The Macdonald Rusacks Hotel overlooking the 18th hole at the Old Course, St Andrews.
The Old Course at St Andrews remains much as it did when it was being played on six hundred years ago. There has been natural evolution, and some man made changes, but these are only really changes in detail. Most of the bunkers on the course occur in natural hollows where the thin surface of top soil has broken to reveal the sand beneath. Bunkers carefully built on courses throughout the world, are all reminders of the seaside position and crumbling soil of St Andrews.
The British Golf Museum at St Andrews has displays that tell the story of five hundred years of golf. There are exhibits that recall great players, and describe the evolution of golfing equipment.
