Emmeline Pankhurst, and her daughters.Christabel, Sylvia and Adela were all involved in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century campaign for women's voting rights. In 1903 the Women's Social and Politcal Union was set up by Emmeline, from her home at 60 - 62 Nelson Street, Manchester. This building survives and is now the home of the Pankhurst Centre.

A parlour has been recreated to appear as it would have done when the Pankhursts lived here. There is also a women's only resource area, for education, meetings and socialising. Every Thursday from 11am - 2pm there is a weekly drop in group for women. A creche is available, but has to be booked ahead.
