Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us, and we will never store or pass on personal details without your express permission. All personal details related to purchases on InfoBritain affiliate sites, or to hotel bookings, are held by the affiiliate companies. InfoBritain holds no personal details.
We use industry standard software provided by Statcounter.com to track the use people make of our website, information we use to enhance the website. We do not track computer use in any way that identifies individual computer users. Statcounter does leave a cookie on a visitor's computer, that allows the visitor to be identified as a repeat visitor if we are lucky enough to see them again. It also shows in general terms the geographical location of users, which is useful in working out who we are appealing to. At present we haven't got a way of opting out of these cookies. What I suggest at the moment is using a programme such as CCleaner available at Piriform. If you run the cleaning programme after using the internet, you can configure the programme to remove cookies for you. Go to http://www.piriform.com/ for the download. Alternatively you can find out how to disable cookies for your particular browser by clicking "help" on your broswer menu. If you disable cookies your experience of InfoBritain will not be affected.
We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices about not having this information used by these companies, click here
If you are concerned about spyware try www.safernetworking.org and consider Spybot as a free download. Spyware Blaster, another free download, is also worth considering as a way of immunising your computer against spyware. Anti-spyware function is also a feature of some commercial antivirus programmes, such as McAfee.
