Imperial War Museum

The Imperial War Museum is dedicated to wartime life from 1914 to the present day. The Museum is located at a number of different sites. There is the Imperial War Museum London in Lambeth Road , with a collection covering all aspects of wartime; The Imperial War Museum Duxford (Cambridgeshire) which displays wartime aircraft; The Imperial War Museum North, which is situated on the banks of the Manchester ship canal with a general collection related to wartime life; the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, where Churchill is commemorated, and where it is possible to view the headquarters of government during the Second World War; and HMS Belfast, a Second World War cruiser, moored on the Thames at Tooley Street, London.

Access: wheelchair access to the museums and to the Cabinet War Rooms is good, and there are various aids for people with sight or hearing difficulties. Wheelchair access on HMS Belfast is limited, but modifications have been made to allow a short tour. Full details for all the different sites are available at the website below.
