Hall's Croft, Warwickshire Halls Croft is the house where Shakespeare's daughter Susanna lived with her husband, Dr John Hall. A typical seventeenth century consulting room has been recreated, and John Hall's medical notes are on display. The garden is very attractive, and includes a range of herbs that Dr Hall would have used in his practice.
A visit here will show how the Shakespeare family came up in the world since the days of Shakespeare's childhood in Henley Street. In Hall's Croft there's an elegant four poster bed. In Shakespeare's birthplace, you will see the kind of bed a four poster originally developed from - a low bed with a rough and ready frame on which a sheet could be supported, to stop insects falling on people while they slept.
