The fort at Castell Henllys in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park dates to around 600BC. Extensive excavations have been carried out, and based on findings made, Iron Age buildings have been reconstructed on their original foundations.
Opening Times: The site is open 10am to 5pm daily from April to October (last entry 4.30pm) and 11am to 3pm from November to March ( last entry 2.30pm).
Education facilities are very good, and many schools organise trips here. The site is closed from 20th December to 8th January.

Directions: Castell Henllys is signposted off the A 487 between Newport and Cardigan.
