BMW Mini Factory

The BMW factory near Cowley, just outside Oxford, produced 189,492 Minis in 2004. Each one was built using the latest precision engineering equipment. Tours of this facility are available. Please note that people with pace makers, and the under fourteens are not allowed on the tour. No open toe shoes or sandals can be worn. This is an active factory environment of energy, movement and noise. Welding equipment can create sparks of fifteen feet in length. In many ways this a tour for the brave.

The Cowley plant is on the A4142 south of Oxford. Bus number 10 runs every fifteen minutes to the plant from Queens Street.

Access: all parts of the tour are accessible for people in wheelchairs. Visitors with pacemakers cannot be admitted. Protective coat and goggles must be worn.
