We use the resources of the UK's leading on-line hotel reservations service to bring you guest reviews, secure bookings and competitive rates for hotels throughout London.

As InfoBritain is a site for historical tourism we have created a special list of hotels with particular historic interest. Each hotel has been selected for its quality, and for the historic nature of its buildings, or for events that took place in or near the hotels. In London you could stay in the Greenwich World Heritage Site, or find a room in a Georgian terrace. Alternatively use our general list for a complete range of accommodation.

Langham's Hotel is one of London's original grand hotels, built in 1865. In many ways the driving force of the Industrial Revolution was the creation of a "ladder of aspiration" which people could climb, spending as they went. Hotels, along with clothing, were one of the first areas of business to perfect this idea. There is no doubt that Langham's is at the top of the ladder as one of London's best hotels. The Royal Horseguards Hotel was designed by Alfred Waterhouse, who was also responsible for the Natural History Museum in Kensington. Originally built as the National Liberal Club, the foundation stone was laid by William Gladstone, who would go on to become a famous Liberal prime minister. Five members of the club would eventually become prime minister. Today the building has been turned into a luxurious five star hotel, in an excellent central position near the Strand.
