Historic Accommodation In Fort William: Swallow Argyll Hotel
The Swallow Argyll Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in the Western Highlands. The Argyll was designed in 1750 by the famous builder John Adam.
The Argyll formed part of the total rebuilding of Inveraray commissioned by the third Duke of Argyll. The Argyll's interior reflects its history and the elegant style of its creator.
Originally built to accommodate guests to the castle, the Argyll today offers high standards of hospitality. Completely modernised and refurbished, the hotel is now one of the most respected hotels on the West Coast of Scotland offering excellent standards of food and accommodation.
Recent additions to the hotel include new conference, banquet and function rooms, new conservatory with stunning views over Loch Fyne and new executive bedrooms built to four star standard.
Set at the gates to Inveraray Castle, the Argyll Hotel offers views over Loch Fyne and Benn Bhuidhe in the distance.

The Moorings lies alongside the Caledonian Canal at the famous Neptune's Staircase. This is the set of eight locks which lift ships using the Caledonian Canal through seventy feet. The Caledonian Canal, designed by Thomas Telford, is one of the great engineering feats of the nineteenth century Industrial Revolution.
With splendid panoramic views of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mor, the Moorings hotel is comfortable and offers modern facilities. The hotel has recently been thoroughly upgraded. Award-winning cuisine is on offer in the Jacobean Restaurant, using the finest Scottish produce including west coast seafood and Highland game. Bar meals are available in the less formal Upper Deck Lounge Bar, where a range of malt whiskies may also be sampled. The Moorings is an excellent base for touring the West Highlands.
